WQRA congratulates James Cameron on his appointment as CEO of the National Water Commission

Mr James Cameron has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Water Commission. He has been acting in this role since the retirement of the inaugural Chair and CEO, Mr Ken Matthews, in October 2010. He had been Deputy CEO of the Commission since October 2009.

As Chief Executive Officer Mr Cameron will report directly to the Parliamentary Secretary for Sustainability and Urban Water. He will have overall responsibility for the strategic direction and operations of the Commission and for administering Australian Government's Raising National Water Standards Program.

Prior to his appointment Mr Cameron held a number of senior management roles in the Australian Government's communications portfolio, including responsibility for telecommunications, broadcasting, information and communications technology and arts and sport policy.
