Membrane distillation

Membrane distillation (MD) is a thermally based desalination process that can treat water using low grade heat, ie solar or waste, for reuse in industry thus substituting precious potable water and reducing discharge volumes to sewer. This project will demonstrate the capacity of MD to reduce discharge volumes to sewer and increase water recoveries driven by waste heat or renewable solar energy to minimize industry greenhouse gas emissions.
