MAWSON LAKES: University of South Australia, South Australia
WQRA's state-based Node Meetings give us an opportunity to provide local updates on recent events, and provide members with an opportunity to connect with with other local members and WQRA staff. The meeting format is informal and conversational, although minutes are recorded and distributed for the benefit of those who are not able to attend in person.
This meeting was held at the university of South Australia's Mawson Lakes capus, and was followed by a tour of the Laboratory for the SA Water Centre for Water Management & Reuse.
The meeting included updates from WQRA Drinking Water program Manager Dr Michele Akeroyd and Education Program Manager Ms Carolyn Bellamy. Also on the agenda was an interesting presentation from Dr Paul Monis on WQRA Project 1035, which looks at rapid molecular methods for the detection and identification of microorganisams in water. The meeting also provided an opportunity for updates from members and a chance to highlight issues for the future.
PDF summaries of the presentations can be accessed by clicking on the links below.
