WQRA Summer Scholarship Introduction

The Summer Scholarship Program offers the opportunity for undergraduate students to undertake further research over the summer period. Students complete a short research project over a period of 10 weeks with a WQRA member organisation. The WQRA Program consists of an Orientation Program, the Research Project and a Reporting Seminar.

Award benefits
• Stipend - $5,000 each
• Networking opportunities
• Student Orientation Day
• Presentation of research outcomes

Call for summer project proposals
30 July 2010 Closing date for project proposals
18 August 2010 Call for student applications
03 September 2010 Closing date for student applications
November 2010 Students commence projects
19 November 2010 Student orientation day
February 2011 Student presentations


Essential Criteria

Project Leaders:

  • Submission must be from a WQRA Member Organisation
  • Projects must align with WQRA Priority Issues
  • Refer to COR-003 WQRA Policy on Education Program funding
  • Refer to PRO-010 WQRA Procedure - application process for Summer Initiative
  • Applications must be submitted on the template provided

Students:

  • Must have Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Must be 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate student
  • Refer to COR-003 WQRA Policy on Education Program funding
  • Refer to PRO-010 WQRA Procedure - application process for Summer Initiative
  • Application must be submitted on the template provided
