SUPERVISORS   STUDENTS
Applications must be submitted from a WQRA Member organisation   Student must be enrolled or intending to enrol at a WQRA Member University
Project must align with WQRA Research Priorities issues   Applications are open to domestic students only
Letters of collaborators support is to be submitted with application   Student enrolment status must be full time at member university
    Students must be available for Orientation Day and Members meeting 22 - 24 February 2012
    Student must be available to give presentation at Summer Student O-Day in November / December 2012 (tba)  (Exams permitting)



Application Information

Project Proposal applications must be according to the guidelines as detailed in documents COR-003 and PRO-009.  All essential criteria must be met.   All applicants must lodge an application for an honours scholarship at the host university for the relevant project.
The Honours Scholarships Agreement must be signed by WQRA and the host organisation before commencement of scholarship   Prospective applicants are advised to contact the supervisor listed for the project to discuss their interest and suitability to the project requirements prior to submitting an application.
Chief Investigators are limited to submitting a maximum of one application per Initiative   An official academic transcript is required.  This may take up to a week or more to obtain.
Honours projects may be associated with a larger project, however the scope of the Honours project must be clearly defined   Submit CV, academic transcript and any other relevant information in one document.
WQRA encourages members to submit collaborative projects where the student undertakes their research on location with a research member as well as an industry member.   Students may submit more than one application.
A specific student may be nominated on the project proposal if the student has already commenced working on the project or is the preferred candidate.  Ensure the student is eligible for a WQRA scholarship.   Ensure you have informed your referees of your application. Preference is for academic or employer supervisor referees.
To strengthen your application ensure supportive resources are identified such as support or expertise within a team, access to particular equipment is available, data already collected etc   When viewing Honours Project Proposals use "bookmarks" to locate preferred project.
If more than one CV, collate and attach as one document
  WQRA reserves the right not to award all scholarships.
If more than two collaborators, attached the letters of support in one document    
     
Essential Criteria for project proposal must:   Essential Criteria for student application must:
align with WQRA research priorities issues   ensure academic record and CV is  attached
be suitable for an honours project   referees have been notified
clearly define the honours project   have contacted Chief Investigator to ensure your suitability to the project
clearly define objectives, methodology, benefits to industry and the research outcomes   demonstrate skills / study experience relevant to the project requirements
clearly indentify resources to support the student / project  

your application will receive a score for:

a) academic record

b) quality of written application

c) skills/study match to the project requirements
