Board Advisory Committees
The Board is supported by two Advisory Committees – the Scientific and Regulatory Advisory Committees – whose roles are to provide the Board with strategic scientific advice in the areas of drinking water quality, wastewater and recycled water. The members of the Advisory Committees are nationally and internationally recognised experts who bring a high level of knowledge and skills to WQRA and its Members.The committee members are required to be completely impartial at all times and act in the best interest of WQRA. Committee members routinely declare any potential conflicts of interests prior to making comments / recommendations on a project proposal.
Scientific Advisory Committee
The Scientific Advisory Committee is a high level technical and advisory group that provides expert recommendations to the Board on developments in scientific research being conducted in the National and International water industry.
Regulatory Advisory Committee
The Regulatory Advisory Committee advises Board on the regulatory context within which WQRA operates regarding Acts of Parliament and associated regulation, as well as guidelines and codes of conduct.
Operational Committees
The CEO is supported by two Operational Committees – the Project Review Team and the Education Committee. The roles of these committees are to provide the CEO and Board with advice regarding project proposals and potential WQRA students. The members of the Operational Committees are representatives from member organisations who bring a high level of knowledge and skills to WQRA and its Members.
Education Committee
The Education Committee supports the education program through expert review of potential projects for the summer, honours and PhD initiatives and of student applications.
Project Review Team
The Project Review Team (PRT) is a high level technical and advisory group that provides expert evaluation of WQRA research submissions and recommendations to the CEO and Board.
